FAQs

Do you outsource any of your work off-shore?

We do not. All work is carried out by designers/developers/project-managers in the UK.

This has been a conscious decision to ensure a high quality of work.

Do you build e-commerce sites?

Yes we do. We build e-commmerce sites using two platforms:

  1. WordPress / WooCommerce, and
  2. Shopify

WordPress / WooCommerce

This option is best when you require granular control over every aspect of your site. Using WordPress and WooCommerce allows you to have varied types of content sitting alongside the products and/or services you’re selling. Customising content for and styling this platform is much easier than other platforms. In 2020 WooCommerce enjoyed approximately 28% market share making it the most widely used e-commerce web platform.

Shopify

Shopify is a hosted solution that is wholly focussed on e-commerce and is therefore the better option if your site only sells products. Although not as easy to style as WooCommerce Shopify e-commerce sites do offer some customisation and when paired with a premium theme a site can be customised to suit your branding quite well. In 2020 Shopify enjoyed 10.98% market share of e-commerce platforms in active use on the Internet. Do you require an e-commerce site? Do you offer a standalone consultancy service?

Yes we do. Our team has over 35 years of combined experience in designing, developing and hosting websites so we have a pool of knowledge that allows us to help businesses make the correct decisions when starting a website project.

We also offer project management services e.g. if the site is being developed off-shore but you’d like an experienced, UK-based company to manage the project on your behalf.

How long does a website project take?

Typically a landing page can be delivered within days; an informational site (brochureware) can be delivered within a month; an e-commerce site can be delivered within 3 months; and a custom project can take anywhere from 3 months to a year depending on the complexity of the site.

You’ll have noticed our use of the word ‘can’ and this is because there are a number of variables that affect the deliverability of a website project.

We’ve had success in delivering highly complex websites in 6 weeks from start to finish and we’ve also experienced projects where a simple site has taken 3 months.

Client participation is key to delivering a website project promptly and we try to maintain a good momentum when working on a project.

Do you require a design or can you also design and develop the site for us

Either. We can design the site and develop it or if you already have a design we can use that in developing the site.

Are design and development two different things?

Yes, design and development are two separate parts of a website project. The design is what the site will look like (e.g. branding, layout etc). The development of a site is the actual build using code (HTML, CSS etc). At NEROdigital we provide both services.

Can you help us with an on-going project?

Yes we can. Subject to certain criteria we’d be happy to come on board an existing project.

Are you able to take over a project mid-way?

Yes we can. We have some experience in this as a number of our clients have come to us with half-finished projects or projects that were not going as planned. We would need to evaluate the current project before agreeing to come on board of course but please do get in touch to discuss further.

We already have a team - can you manage the project?

Yes we can. Subject to certain criteria being met we can come on board your project to manage it.

Do you build sites using Wix or Squarespace

We do not. We build most of our projects on WordPress, which is the industry standard in intuitive and flexible web platforms.

Although web builders like Wix and Squarespace have their place we’ve found that the businesses objectives our clients have are met with more success when using WordPress, Shopify or a custom-developed solution.

Do you offer domain registration services?

No, we do not. However we do know companies that do so please get in touch and we’ll be happy to share their contact details.

Do you do web hosting?

Yes, we do, however we only host websites that we have built.

Do you offer website maintenance?

Yes, we do offer website care packages however we only offer them to clients who host with us.

Still have a question or need to clarify something? Contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
