I am a web site designer/developer by profession, with a strong interest and experience in related industries like Social Media Marketing and Search Engine Marketing.
Starting out as a web site designer in 1999, I elevated to web site developer in 2005 opting to make PHP my programming language of choice.
For two years I provided my clients with a Content Management System I built from scratch using PHP & MySQL.
At about this time open-source CMSs made a strong appearance and for the last few years I've been building web sites for clients using two very powerful PHP-based Content Management Systems namely WordPress and Joomla.
I also dabble in web development frameworks like Zend (for PHP) and Ruby on Rails as well as other programming languages like Python and Ruby.
I keep up with the world of web site development by reading magazines like Web Designer and .net. I like to stay up to date with digital marketing and its impact on the business world by reading Fast Company and Inc magazines.
I am currently employed as a web site developer by the Corporate IT Forum and also take on private work.
I live in the leafy Greater London suburb of Stanmore with my lovely family.
I read a lot (really, a lot!) of novels and books with The Lord of the Rings and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy topping my favourites list.
To keep fit I swim and play squash & badminton.
