Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past 3 years you’ll have read, or at least heard of, “The Da Vinci Code” by author Dan Brown and possibly watched the movie starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou released a few months ago.
“The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail” is basically the foundation Dan Brown used for “The Da Vinci Code” and digs deeper into a particular Grail theory, that of Jesus having survived the crucification and living on to have a child with Mary Magdalene.
Covering a lot of ground, from the holy crusades to the Knights Templars to the French Merovingian Dynasty and finally to modern day ’secret’ societies, this book has been well researched and written.
Do I believe the theory? I really don’t know, however I do know not to accept everything I was told in school as far as history goes. There is a lot of historical fact in the book that I somehow missed growing up and there are some facts everyone should know about.
If “The Da Vinci Code” had you intrigued this is a must read.
