Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

The tag-line on the cover of this book is “What the rich teach their kids - that you can learn too”

In this book, Robert Kiyosaki explains that he was raised, in terms of real-world education, by two fathers - his real father who was highly qualified but poor and his friend’s father who had never gotten past the eighth grade but was rich.

His Poor Dad was of the opinion that if one studied hard, got the grades, got qualifications and worked hard then life would be good.

His Rich Dad also believed in a good education however also believed it vitally important to be educated in how the world really works and how to navigate through life towards financial freedom.

Consider how many people you know in the “Rat Race” - this comes about from thinking like Poor Dad - nothing wrong with it if that’s the life you’re after however if you’re looking for a better life, where you’re not tied down by your mortgage company, your bank and your employer, and you don’t have to constantly compromise on the quality of your life, then you want to follow Rich Dad’s path.

The fact is our schooling systems are antiquated and are not keeping up with the fast-changing times. They don’t teach survival skills needed in the finance world, a world we’re all a part of no matter what career path we’re on.

This book serves to educate us a little and Robert Kiyosaki tells us how/what decisions he has made through his life that allow him to live ‘free’.

If you’re tired of the Rat Race or don’t want your kids to fall into that same trap, read this book!
